     Nathaniel (Nathan) Keefer was born in Arlington, Texas in a family of musicians and music educators. His mother, Linda Keefer, taught orchestra for 42 years in Arlington where she began the orchestra program in 1972.  She spent most of her years as the orchestra director at Arlington High School.  His uncle, Bill Huff, also taught in Arlington at Martin High School and went on to be the Director of Fine Arts for Arlington Independent School District.  Currently, his sister, Trisha Beckham, is a successful orchestra teacher in Austin, Texas.                          Nathan is an experienced teacher who has worked with students at the high school level in 6A programs in Arlington, Texas for seven years.  His last position, he served as the head orchestra director at Arlington High School.  At Arlington High School, he was in charge of overseeing the entire orchestra program which consists of over 225 students and 6 orchestras.  He also has experience working with a varsity level string and full orchestra.  Prior to AHS, he was the assistant director at Martin High School in Arlington, Texas.  The Martin orchestra program is also a 6A program with over 250 students.  This year, the Martin High School Symphony Orchestra was selected as the Honor Full Orchestra and recently performed at TMEA.  His first two years of teaching in Arlington ISD, he was the assistant director at Bowie High School as well as the orchestra teacher at West Elementary where he worked with both beginning and second year students. Over his seven year career, he has consistently received first division ratings at UIL with non varsity and varsity orchestras. 

     Nathan now lives with his family in the Austin area.
